How to watch Real Madrid v Chelsea in quarter-finals of the Champions League, what channel the match is on in the UK, and what time kick-off is.

Defending champions Real Madrid are the favourites to win the clash after knocking out Liverpool 6-2 on aggregate at the round-of-16 stage.
Chelsea, meanwhile, will have a real test on their hands. Club legend Frank Lampard was installed as the interim boss last week following the departure of Graham Potter earlier this month. However, Chelsea have got off to a disappointing start on Lampard’s return to the west London club with a 1-0 defeat to Wolves on Saturday.

Lampard not interested in 2012 comparisons

Lampard has experience of winning the Champions League as Chelsea’s captain in 2012 when he played under interim boss Roberto Di Matteo. During a disappointing league campaign, Di Matteo was hired as the interim manager and shocked the footballing world by leading Chelsea to European glory.

However, Lampard is fully aware of the challenge Real will pose his side on Wednesday and does not want to make comparisons to 2012. Should Chelsea overcome Real Madrid, they will face either Bayern Munich or Manchester City in the last four.

“Probably on the outside, in a romantic sort of way, I can see why people would make the comparison [to 2012],” Lampard said.

“But I think in football terms because our games will be against Real Madrid and, if we can progress, Bayern Munich or Man City, there are practical things that are really tough. So I certainly don’t want to be getting one step further ahead of ourselves than I should.

“We only can focus now on the game on Wednesday and the challenge there. I don’t think the history has a big effect on it but I understand the romantic idea.

“Wouldn’t we all love to see it again? But we have to work towards that. I think it is hard to compare with previous years gone by.”

Ancelotti: Villarreal loss won’t affect us in Champions League

Real Madrid enjoyed a brilliant start to April. After an emphatic 6-0 win over Real Valladolid on April 2, Real Madrid came back from a 1-0 deficit in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final clash against fierce rivals Barcelona by winning 4-0 at the Nou Camp last Wednesday.
However, Ancelotti elected to rest key players for their league match against Villarreal on Saturday and the game ended in a 3-2 defeat at home. Nevertheless, Real’s Italian boss does not believe the result will have any impact on how his side’s mentality against Chelsea.

He told reporters: “With regard to the Champions League, this defeat won’t affect our confidence for Wednesday’s game, which will be different.

“I may use the same 11 from the Camp Nou. Today, I rotated a lot of players because the match against Barcelona took a lot out of us physically and mentally.”
