Red sunset rainbow wows at Yosemite National Park: video

Breathtaking video captured a gorgeous vermillion-tinged rainbow gracing the skies above Yosemite National Park earlier this month.

The remarkable time-lapse footage of the event over the California park’s Half Dome summit was captured by photographer Shreenivasan Manievannan on June 4, according to Storyful.

“[I] witnessed some beautiful light and a rare red-colored sunset rainbow to finish off the day in style,” Manievannan told the outlet.

“The rainbow looks reddish orange as the last bit of light just about sunset falls on the rain drops.”

Manievannan’s video comes just a few months after a “firefall” lit up Yosemite’s Horsetail Falls in February.

“When the sun drops at the exact right angle, it reflects upon El Capitan,” Yosemite National Park public affairs officer Scott Gediman told Agence France-Presse of the stunning illusion.
