Robert Downey Jr. giving away six of his vintage dream cars

Robert Downey Jr. shared in his Instagram Story on Tuesday that he is giving away six of his vintage, eco-modified dream cars in a competition anyone can enter.

Downey Jr., 58, is collaborating with the Edward Charles Foundation to raise money for his climate tech venture capital company FootPrint Coalition.

The “Iron Man” star posted a picture of himself dreamily sauntering next to his six cars, with the caption: “In case you haven’t heard yet, I’m giving away some of my cars..”

In the next slide, the actor informed the public how to enter and when the drawings will periodically take place, stressing that “no purchase/donation required & making one will not increase chances of winning.”

Legal residents over 18 in the United States, UK and Canada, excluding Quebec, can already begin submitting entries on the official website until July 16, 2024.

The first drawing will be held on February 9, 2024, with a drawing taking place every month from then. The final drawing is on July 31, 2024.

While no purchase is required to enter, donations are converted into entries. The lowest set monetary donation, $10, equals 10 entries and the highest, $5,000, is 8,500 entries. All proceeds will go towards FootPrint Coalition’s nonprofit organization.

The official website for the sweepstakes deems the vehicles “beauties that we converted to drive to a pollution-free future.”

The “Oppenheimer” star, who plays Lewis Strauss , chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission, recently praised his co-star Cillian Murphy for his dedication to the movie.

Murphy, 47, plays J. Robert Oppenheimer, the father of the atomic bomb, in the Christopher Nolan-directed summer blockbuster.

“I have never witnessed a greater sacrifice by a lead actor in my career,” Downey Jr. told People.

“He knew it was going to be a behemoth ask when Chris called him,” he continued.

“But I think he also had the humility that is required to survive playing a role like this.”
