Robert Irwin reportedly ‘dating’ Heath Ledger’s niece Scarlett Buckley
It’s not a crock — Robert Irwin appears to be stepping out with the relative of another tragic Aussie star.
Irwin, 18, son of the late “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin, was spotted with Scarlett Buckley, 18 — niece of the late Heath Ledger — on Nov. 18, enjoying a romantic evening on the beach in Queensland, Australia.
Photos released by New Idea magazine show the young couple all smiles as they enjoy a sunset stroll.
The teens were also seen grabbing burgers and fries from a local restaurant before making their way back to the beach, where Irwin embraced the niece of “The Dark Knight” star.
Neither has spoken publicly about their budding romance, but Irwin openly follows Buckley’s private Instagram account.
Buckley, who has an identical twin sister, Rorie, is the daughter of Ledger’s sister, Kate.
Kate Ledger, who owns a design and media production company, has vowed to keep her brother’s legacy from dwindling by creating the “Heath Ledger Scholarship” for young Australian actors.
Ledger was found dead at the height of his Hollywood career in January 2008 of an accidental prescription drug overdose.
Steve Irwin, world famous in his role as the “Crocodile Hunter,” died on Sep. 4, 2006, after he was pierced through the chest by the barb of a stingray.
Robert Irwin was only three years old when his father, the “Crocodile Hunter,” died at 44.
As a result, both teens have grown up in the public eye from a young age and have dealt with media coverage of their family losses.
Terri Irwin, the widow of Steve Irwin, has continually kept his memory alive with the help of her son and daughter, Bindi Irwin, through their conservation work for Australia Zoo.
In July, Irwin went viral after a TikTok showed an American tourist attempting to get his cellphone number while she was visiting the Australian Zoo.
The encounter had social media gushing that Irwin has his father’s charm.
