Rod Stewart mourns his brothers Don and Bob

Rod Stewart paid tribute to his two brothers, Don and Bob, who passed away within two months of each other.

The British rocker, 77, mourned his older brothers on Instagram Wednesday. His brother Bob died on Tuesday night, not long after his other brother Don, who died in early September.

“It’s with great sadness that I announce the loss of my brother Bob last night, who joins my brother Don on the great football pitch in the sky,” he wrote in the caption.

He continued: “I’ve lost two of my best mates in the space of two months. RIP Don and Bob, irreplaceable buddies.”

People flocked to Stewart’s Instagram to share supportive words.

“How sad … deepest condolences to you all. RIP Bob,” Piers Morgan commented on Stewart’s post.

Musician David Foster then commented, “My sincere condolences SRS.”

“I’m terribly sorry for your loss my friend 😢,” Sharon Stone added. Journalist Dolly Alderton chimed in: “❤️ I’m sorry for your loss.”

Another user penned: “Sorry for your loss, Rod. My grandparents were friends with your parents, Rod. My nan told me that Don had a lovely voice. RIP.”

On Sept. 9, Stewart announced that Don died at 94 years old.

The “Love Hurts” singer is the youngest of five siblings and has two living sisters, Peggy and Mary.

One of Stewart’s eight sons, Sean, was rushed to the hospital after being hit by a truck in October.

Page Six reported on Oct. 26 that the 42-year-old was expected to “make a full recovery” following the car accident.

“Sean has been working on his clothing line Dirty Weekend and some new travel projects for TV and other media. He was driving to a meeting, and the truck slammed into him rather fast,” his manager Wendy Feldman said at the time about the incident.

Following his injury, Sean was transported to Cedars-Sinai hospital where an MRI showed he has a dislocated shoulder and other injuries.

Feldman also stated that Sean “is very happy nobody was seriously injured and is very grateful for the efforts of the emergency and medical staff.”
