Roger Gonzalez allegedly slashed woman’s throat with ankle monitor
A San Antonio man allegedly slashed a woman’s throat and “left her for dead rolled up in plastic” in a Texas field all while still wearing an ankle monitor Friday, a sheriff’s office said.
Roger Gonzalez, 31, was arrested in a San Antonio home a day after he allegedly beat and stabbed the victim during the brutal assault Friday afternoon, according to the Atascosa County Sheriff’s Office.
“She was left for dead rolled up in plastic in a pasture,” the sheriff’s office said.
The woman was luckily found still alive on the side of the road hours later by authorities. She was listed in serious, but stable condition.
Gonzalez allegedly sported the ankle monitor during the disturbing assault, the Atascosa sheriff’s office said.
He was charged with first-degree aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a first-degree felony. His bail was increased from $40,000 to $275,000 by a justice of the peace.
He remains in county jail in lieu of bond, authorities said.
