Ronnie O’Sullivan dispatches Jackson Page in under 50 minutes to move into English Open third round

Ronnie O’Sullivan booked his place in the last 32 of the English Open after cruising past Jackson Page.

Looking to win the tournament for just the second time, O’Sullivan was in fine form as he saw off Page 4-1 in Brentwood.

Undaunted, Page returned to the table to rattle off a 109 break of his own to restore parity with some impressive potting.

Remarkably, O’Sullivan, clearly in the mood, responded with a third century of the match – again 109 – to move back in front with less than half an hour played.

The fourth frame also went the way of O’Sullivan, who produced some excellent shots from range to move within one frame of victory.

O’Sullivan wrapped up victory with some exhibition snooker as he notched the fourth century of the match to advance.

‘Wow’ – O’Sullivan stuns English Open crowd with brilliant long red

Such was the quality of snooker on display, the match was wrapped up in less than 50 minutes

He faces the winner of Si Jiahui or Fergal O’Brien in round three.
