Royal fans ‘happy’ to see Epstein pal Andrew — but slam Prince Harry
Dedicated royal fans braving the rain to catch a glimpse of the royal family ahead of the coronation of King Charles III on Saturday said they were “happy” to see disgraced Prince Andrew – but not “disloyal” runaway royal Prince Harry.
The new monarch’s momentous day was marred by family drama, with his brother being tied to late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and his second son releasing a protocol-shattering memoir.
Still, diehard royalists stood behind Andrew, 63, and shunned Harry, 38, who shocked the world when he abruptly quit the royal family with wife Meghan Marke, 41, in 2020 and moved thousands of miles away to the United States.
“I think it’s good that Andrew is here today,” Beverly Antonio, 72, told The Post.
“Prince Andrew should appear on the balcony with the rest of the family. He’s absolutely fantastic. He’s my old colonel regiment,” Peter Mulingani, 51, from Midlands, England added.
“Innocent until proven guilty. As the law of any land says, you are innocent until proven guilty.”
Andrew, 63, was infamously stripped of his royal and military honors amid his sex abuse lawsuit with Jeffrey Epstein accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre in Jan. 2022.
The two eventually reached a settlement in the case in February 2022. Andrew admitted no wrongdoing, but wrote in a letter that he regretted his association with Epstein, who Giuffre claims trafficked him to the royal and other rich and powerful men.
“I’m happy Andrew is here,” Dave Stewart, 67, of the Isle of Wight, also told The Post.
“I’m glad Andrew was invited to be in the background,” Mal Hill, 63, from Manchester chimed in.
But the royal family fans had far less enthusiasm about Prince Harry’s attendance at the storied event.
“Harry should not be here. He’s been very disloyal to the royal family and I just don’t see why he needs to be here today,” Bernie Cullen, of Liverpool, said.
“You just don’t air out your dirty laundry in public at all. He’s been so against his family, I don’t think he should be here.”
Bernie’s wife, Jaquie, admitted she was more offended by Harry’s behavior than Andrew’s.
“With Andrew, I couldn’t care less if he attends or not. Harry scarred the British spirit more than Andrew. Because against Andrew [there are] only allegations but Harry has done the unforgivable,” she scoffed.
Hill, who said she was “glad” for Andrew to attend, said she “wouldn’t have invited” the Duke of Sussex.
“I think he’s not stuck to the code and if he had something to say he should’ve said it to the family. He’s just dished dirt as far as I’m concerned,” she said.
Harry, 38, has been estranged from his father and the rest of the royal family since he and wife Meghan Markle, 41, quit life as working royals and decamped for California.
The rift was deepened by the couple’s bombshell Netflix documentary series in December, followed by the release of Harry’s controversial memoir, “Spare” in January.
The flame-haired prince arrived at Westminster Abbey on Saturday alongside his cousins, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, however, he proceeded into the ceremony alone.
He was then relegated to a seat in the back row. Unlike his disgraced uncle, he wore a simple morning suit.
The Duke of York – who is no longer permitted to the use the honorific “His Royal Highness” – shocked onlookers by arriving at his brother’s coronation in traditional garter robes.
Onlookers seemed equally relieved that Meghan had decided to stay behind in California with the pair’s children, Prince Archie, who turns four today, and Princess Lilibet, 1.
“Meghan should never come here again. She shouldn’t step foot here,” Antonio insisted.
“She made people question each other when before everyone loved each other. I’m glad she isn’t here.”
