Ryan Manuella sent to prison for 2 years
A creep from New York was sentenced to two years in prison after he admitted to groping a woman on a flight to Newark two years ago.
Ryan Manuella was handed down the punishment from a federal judge in New Jersey last week for the attack that took place on a 2021 United Airlines flight from Denver International Airport, the Department of Justice said in a press release.
Manuella, 30, of upstate Cheektowaga, sat down next to a woman with a window seat when her rowmate went to the bathroom and stole a pair of sunglasses, the feds said.
When the passenger returned from the bathroom, Manuella slid into the vacant middle seat and began groping the woman’s thigh and groin, according to prosecutors.
The “visibly distraught” victim began shaking and crying. She then yelled, “in a loud voice to get away from her.”
The woman leaped from her seat, and sought assistance from a flight attendant, a criminal complaint said.
Manuella had previously pleaded guilty to assault with intent to commit another felony and admitted that his crime caused the woman “substantial emotional distress,” the feds wrote.
He was also sentenced to three years of probation following his prison term.
