Ryan Seacrest replacing Pat Sajak as ‘Wheel of Fortune’ host

Ryan Seacrest has yet another job to take on.

Seacrest has been named the new host of “Wheel of Fortune” following Pat Sajak’s retirement, The Post has confirmed.

Along with being the new host, Seacrest, 48, will also serve as a consulting producer on the show, according to a statement from Sony.

I’m truly humbled to be stepping into the footsteps of the legendary Pat Sajak,” Seacrest said in a statement. “I can say, along with the rest of America, that it’s been a privilege and pure joy to watch Pat and Vanna on our television screens for an unprecedented 40 years, making us smile every night and feel right at home with them.”

“Pat, I love the way you’ve always celebrated the contestants and made viewers at home feel at ease,” he added. “I look forward to learning everything I can from you during this transition.”

Seacrest added that one of his first jobs was hosting a game show called “Click” for Merv Griffin about 25 years ago, so this opportunity is “truly a full circle moment for me.”

“I can’t wait to continue the tradition of spinning the wheel and working alongside the great Vanna White,” he shared.

Sajak, 76, announced two weeks ago that he would be retiring after 41 years and that the next season of the beloved game show will be his last.

“Well, the time has come. I’ve decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last,” the long-time host tweeted. “It’s been a wonderful ride, and I’ll have more to say in the coming months. Many thanks to you all. (If nothing else, it’ll keep the clickbait sites busy!)”

Seacrest’s reps declined to comment further to The Post.

Sajak has hosted “Wheel” since 1981, while Vanna White, 66, joined the show a year later as the iconic letter-turner.

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Pat and Vanna for many years, witnessing their effortless ability to bring joy and humor to ‘Wheel of Fortune’ for decades!” Suzanne Prete, EVP of Game Shows at Sony Pictures Television said.

“Pat has been an incredible host and helped build the show into the success it is today. While Ryan has some big shoes to fill, I’m confident he will connect with our loyal fanbase and excite a whole new audience as we expand upon the show’s great legacy. I couldn’t be more thrilled.”

Sajak will continue as a consultant on the show for three years following his final season, Sony Pictures Television revealed in a statement.

Many fans initially speculated that Seacrest was a top contender for the host gig, along with Vanna White, Pat’s daughter Maggie Sajak, Whoopi Goldberg and Stephen A. Smith — though many on social media were hoping White would ultimately get the job.

Seacrest has both hosted and produced a slew of TV and radio programs including “American Idol” and “On Air with Ryan Seacrest,” and he most recently left his role as host of “Live with Kelly and Ryan.”

He has had stints as a daytime talk show host, competition series host, radio host, red carpet interviewer and host of TV specials, including “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest” since 2005.

“We are ecstatic to have Ryan as the next host of ‘Wheel of Fortune.’ Ryan loves ‘Wheel’ as much as we do and is the perfect person to continue the show’s four-decade success into the future,” Ravi Ahuja, Chairman of Global Television Studios at Sony Pictures said of the decision in a statement.
