Salman Rushdie stabbed during appearance in New York

Author Salman Rushdie has been stabbed during an appearance in New York.

“The Satanic Verses” novelist was on stage at the Chautauqua Institution when he was suddenly attacked, video from the event shows.

The suspect is reportedly in custody.
