Sex toy recalled over shocking burn risk: ‘Please don’t use it’
This is not the kind of hot sex you want.
A sex toy is being recalled as its maker warned that a defective batch could burn users.
So Divine’s Vibrating Pearl Love Egg — with batch code BN2303 — has been recalled “due to an internal fault,” the UK’s Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) warned consumers earlier this month.
The company discovered that the promiscuous product may warm up when the batteries are inserted incorrectly and could possibly hurt frisky frolickers in places where they might prefer pleasure.
“This may pose a burns risk to customers,” the governmental agency warned.
The OPSS said items with the batch code do not meet safety regulations and have since been removed from the company’s website.
“If you’ve bought an affected product, please don’t use it. Instead, return it to the store where you purchased it from for a full refund,” Wiltshire Trading Standards advised.
The Vibrating Pearl Love Egg sold for about $32 and was marketed as a “game-changer when it comes to pleasure and intimacy,” according to the Daily Mail.
While this new batch of erotic massagers was found with faulty technology, other sex-positive companies have utilized new tech to help users spice up their sex lives.
Lovense, a brand known for its remote-control-operated vibrators, unveiled a new sex toy for users to dream up their sexual fantasies with a hand from artificial intelligence.
The brand has incorporated an AI chatbot in its new product offering, the Advanced Lovense ChatGPT Pleasure Companion.
Pleasure-seekers can divulge any sexual fantasy to the chatbot, being as specific as they’d like, with the option to input characters and locations.
The product will then narrate the customized story and make the toy vibrate along with the erotic or romantic tale.
