Shannen Doherty and Jason Priestley talk about the ‘sexual undertone’ of their ‘90210’ twin siblings

Shannen Doherty and Jason Priestley admit there was sexual tension between their twin “Beverly Hills, 90210” characters.

Priestley, 54, made an appearance on 52-year-old Doherty’s “Let’s Be Clear” podcast Monday where the pair reflected on the odd chemistry between their characters Brenda and Brandon Walsh.

“Brenda and Brandon were always so interesting because we had an interesting relationship,” Doherty said, prompting Priestley to bust into laughter. “There was this sexual undertone of Brenda and Brandon that to this day is hysterical.”

Doherty, who portrayed Brenda for the first four seasons of the show, also recalled a fan at a convention asking her to sign a picture of the fictional siblings, recalling, “I was like, ‘This is inappropriate for brother and sister.’”

The “Charmed” alum also referenced the 1992 Rolling Stone magazine cover she and Priestley posed for alongside the late Luke Perry.

“I’m like, straddling you,” Doherty chuckled. “So bizarre. There were a lot of bizarre things that happened with us.”

“It’s pretty funny,” Priestley, who appeared on all 10 seasons of the series, agreed.

Rumors of an off-screen romance between Doherty and Priestley swirled during the early days of “90210” but Priestley denied the rumors in a 1993 interview with Howard Stern.

Shannen Doherty and Jason Priestley spoke Monday on her “Let’s Be Clear” podcast.

Doherty has never been shy about addressing taboo topics on her podcast. Last week, she talked about her clear end-of-life wishes.

“This is such a morbid conversation, but it’s also so fun,” she admitted. “I want [my remains] to be mixed with my dog and I want it to be mixed with my dad. I do not want to be buried and not cremated.”

Doherty, who is battling Stage 4 breast cancer, also wants to “find a place that my dad and I both really loved and it meant a lot to us,” mentioning that they spent memorable times together in Malibu, California.

She also blatantly claimed that there are “a lot of people” she doesn’t want to attend her funeral.

“I don’t want them there because their reasons for showing up aren’t necessarily the best reasons,” she explained. “Like, they don’t really like me — and they have their reasons, and good for them — but they don’t actually really like me enough to show up to my funeral.”

But on Monday, Doherty showed off her softer side by honoring her late “90210” fiancé, David Gail, who died Jan. 16 at age 58, due to complications from sudden cardiac arrest, according to his rep.
