Sheryl Crow recalls ‘disgusting’ time she had human poop thrown at her

It was an actual s – – t show.

Singer Sheryl Crow opened up on the podcast “Fly on the Wall” Wednesday about the rather stinky time that someone managed to throw human feces at her while she played Woodstock 1999.

The topic of the surprise attack came up after the show’s hosts — SNL alumni Dana Carvey and David Spade — brought up a recent Netflix documentary about the doomed music festival.

“I watched part of it on the airplane a couple of days ago. I had to turn it off,” said Crow.

“It was so disturbing and I remember it. I remember how awful it was.”

Spade then asked the 60-year-old songwriter about her personal experience.

“Was it scary for you?” asked Spade.

“When you watch how everyone went bananas. I can’t believe who would stay. It was so bad.” 

Crow responded that people did stay, but it was a total mess.

“It was debauched from the beginning because we were on the first day. You could look out and see girls who were topless on guys’ shoulders, trying to get the MTV camera to sweep around in front of them and get on TV,” recalled Crow.

“And they were already throwing s – – t from the outhouses that were not set up right, that were leaking.”

“At one point, some landed on my hand while I was playing bass during ‘My Favorite Mistake’. That’s when we stopped. We played about four songs and I remember saying, ‘Nah, not gonna do it,’” continued Crow.

When considering her long history of live performances, Crow called Woodstock ’99 a “highlight.” But was it her favorite mistake?
