Sky Brown makes history aged 14 with gold at Skateboarding Park World Championships

At the age of 14, Sky Brown became Britain’s first skateboarding world champion after a stunning performance in the women’s park final on Sunday.

Brown posted a best score of 90.83 from her three runs to take victory at the World Championships in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. Japanese duo Hiraki Kokona (86.66) and Yosozumi Sakura (85.15) took silver and bronze respectively.

Brown already had the lead when she stepped up for her final run, allowing her to push the limits. Kicking off with an Alley Oop and signing off with a 540, Brown packed her third run with tricks as she breached the 90-point barrier.
