Snoop Dogg isn’t quitting weed after all — here’s why he trolled everyone ?
What a Dogg!
Rapper Snoop Dogg revealed that he hasn’t given up smoking weed — He’s just collaborating with a smokeless fire pit.
“I have an announcement, I’m giving up smoke,” the rapper, born Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., said somberly in a brand new advertisement on Instagram. “I know what you’re thinking, ‘Snoop smoke is kinda your whole thing.’”
But I’m done with it. I’m done with the coughing and my clothes smelling all stinky,” the “Gin and Juice” wordsmith continued.
“I’m going smokeless,” Snoop, 52, concludes. “Solo Stove makes fire. They take out the smoke. Clever.”
The video, which was posted Monday, has gained nearly 2 million likes and hundreds of comments commending the “Drop It Like It’s Hot” singer on his marketing genius.
“Y’all just witnessed the power of marketing and advertising at the HIGHEST level literally,” one fan screeched in delight.
“You got me bro,” a second person laughed. “Marketing GENIUS.”
“Marketing level over 9 million,” a third user chuckled.
A few fan allegedly felt betrayed by the singer after he revealed that he wasn’t actually quitting smoking weed.
“Damn so I quit for no reason,” one user lamented.
“Damn Snoop.. used the one thing that was your staple. That people knew you for.. and used it to promote a stove,” one user said. f–k the cannabis culture huh? I’m not mad I’m just disappointed. That’s whack.”
One user attempted to reason with those who felt betrayed.
“To everyone saying Snoop tricked us, at no point has he said he hasn’t given up smoking weed.” the user reasoned. “What if he posted his announcement and then this ad deal came after as a result?”
“Even if he is still smoking, to everyone who was inspired to quit, still do it for you,” they continued. “You are worth it. If a whole fireplace can go smokeless, so can you.”
Snoop’s follow-up ad comes mere days after the “Gin and Juice” singer announced that he was “giving up smoking.”
‘“After much consideration & conversation with my family, I’ve decided to give up smoke,” Snoop wrote in an Instagram caption alongside a photo of him praying.
“Please respect my privacy at this time.”
At the time, it was suspected that the artist was giving up his favorite pastime to spend more time with his family and grandchildren.
Snoop and his wife Shante Broadus, who have been married since 1997, share three children Cordé, 29, and Cordell, 26 and daughter Cori, 24. While the “Doggyland” singer shares another son, Julian, with his ex Laurie Holmond.
through his kids, the “Riders on the Storm” artist is a grandfather to 9 grandkids.
The music icon once told the Daily Mail that being “a grandfather has changed me.”
“The main way is being concerned with how I live, how I move, the kind of people I’m associated with, because I want to see my grandkids grow old,” he said. “The only way I can do that is to take precautionary steps as far as how I move, who I hang out with, where I go out, my intake, what am I intaking?”
