Stevie Nicks felt like a ‘ghost’ watching Riley Keough in ‘Daisy Jones and the Six’
The songstress has “big love” for the series.
Songwriter Stevie Nicks revealed in an emotional Instagram post Tuesday that Riley Keough “brought back memories that made me feel like a ghost watching my own story” after watching the hit Amazon Prime show “Daisy Jones and the Six.”
The Fleetwood Mac singer also revealed that it took her two full watch-throughs before she really got into the 10-episode series.
“Just finished watching ‘Daisy Jones and the Six’ for the second time,” wrote Nicks. “In the beginning, it wasn’t really my story, but Riley seamlessly soon became my story.”
“It brought back memories that made me feel like a ghost watching my own story,” continued Nicks, 75, while also referencing her late bandmate Christine McVie, who died in November 2022.
“It was very emotional for me,” wrote the “Oh Well” singer. “I just wish Christine could have seen it. She would have loved it.”
Nicks concluded her post by expressing her hope that the series “will continue.”
The Post reached out to Nicks for comment.
Released in March 2023, the miniseries — which was adapted from a 2019 novel of the same name— follows the aforementioned band in the 1970s and 1990s as they rise from obscurity to fame and reveal the real reason they called it quits after a sold-out show.
The show stars Keough, “Hunger Games” hunk Samuel Claflin, Will Harrison and several others.
Taylor Jenkins Reid, the book’s author, told the Independent that she was actually inspired to write the book after watching a Fleetwood Mac performance of the song “Silver Springs” in 1997.
Since airing, several fans sang its praises and has since been nominated for three Emmy Awards.
This is not the first time both Nicks and Keough have been headlines recently.
The singer was recently slammed by her social media followers after she seemingly posted a self-centered statement about her home in Maui as the wildfires continue to cut a swath of devastation on the island.
“As I am sure you have heard – the island, Maui, where I own a house I have been staying at since the 80s – and the small village, city, most magical place on earth, Lahaina, burned to the ground over the last few days,” read the Instagram post.
“And to make the situation worse my young niece, her husband, and their little boy had just arrived for a very needed vacation before she started up her school year (on her way to becoming a psychologist) for 10 days,” continued the singer’s post. “They had one and a half days of fun and then — the fire started.”
Nicks goes on to venerate the town and described it as an “amazing town that had survived so much for so long” adding that the island meant so much to Fleetwood Mac.
Since being posted, several people have called out the singer’s response to the situation as tone-deaf but die-hard fans claimed the woman was grieving and worried about her family member.
Last week, Keough, 34, revealed that she shut down production after eating peanuts and almost kissing Andrew Garfield while on the set of “Under the Silver Lake.”
“I was in the makeup trailer and I was eating like a granola bar or something,” recalled Keough during a Vanity Fair interview. “And I was about to shoot a scene where I have to kiss Andrew and the makeup lady was like, ‘Are there peanuts in that?’ And I was like, ‘I think I don’t know.’”
According to the “Mad Max: Fury Road” star, the woman bolted from the trailer and went to find a producer.
“She got the producer who’s a friend of mine and the producer came in and was like ‘Riley like Andrew is very allergic to peanuts and we had to shut the set down,’” laughs Keough. “And they shouldn’t have been at [craft services] and I don’t know why they’re on set.”
“Daisy Jones & the Six” is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
