Super Hero’ brings in $6.4 million opening night

“Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero” rolled into first place in the box office on Friday, raking in over $6.4 million on its opening night, according to IMDB’s Box Office Mojo.

The Japanese animated adventure film is expected to take in $21 million during its first weekend in theaters, according to Variety.

The Idris Elba-led “Beast,” roared into second place, earning close to $4.3 million in sales in its debut.

“Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero” came in at No. 1 at the box office.

A survival story of a family who gets stalked by a lion in South Africa, the movie “makes you miss ‘Anaconda,’” The Post quipped.

“Bullet Train” slowed down to third place after spending two weeks in the No. 1 spot, taking in just $2.2 million.

Since its opening Aug. 5, the Brad Pitt flick has sold $63.2 million in tickets domestically and $123.2 million worldwide.

Pitt recently traveled to South Korea to promote the action film, and entertained the crowd at a press conference by saying, “I am not here for the movie, I am here for the food,” according to The Korea Herald.

The summer’s biggest blockbuster, “Top Gun: Maverick” met with some turbulence this week as it nosedived to fourth place, with a close to $1.6 million take. All told, the Tom Cruise sequel has booked $1`.38 billion worldwide, including $679 million domestically, since it flew into theaters Memorial Day weekend.

“DC League of Super-Pets,” which was in second last week, fell down to fifth, bringing home $1.4 million. The animated Warner Brothers film has sold $63.1 million in tickets domestically and $114 million worldwide since its July 29 premiere.
