Taylor Swift Chiefs-Jets game ‘depressing,’ Shawn Levy says

Shawn Levy had to “Shake It Off.”

The “Night at the Museum” director, 55, was a little shooketh after watching the Kansas City Chiefs and New York Jets play at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Oct. 1.

Levy watched the game alongside Taylor Swift, 33, and a slew of other Hollywood A-listers including Hugh Jackman, 54, Sophie Turner, 27, and married couple goals Blake Lively, 36 and Ryan Reynolds, 46.

“It’s almost depressing by the way,” the Canadian film producer told Variety on Thursday. “I can make 50 more hit movies and shows and I”ll still be known as the guy in the orange suede jacket going to the Chiefs-Jets game with Taylor and others.”

“Nothing prepared us for the frenzy of attention that was that outing,” Shawn Levy says of attending the NFL game with Taylor Swift.

Levy, who was invited to the game by his “very close friend” Reynolds and “closest friend Hugh” was expecting a fun guys night out with “the buddies.”

But instead, for a few short hours, the high-profile group seemingly captured the world’s attention.

“We had a glimmer that maybe there would be others but nothing prepared us for the frenzy of attention that was that outing,” the “Deadpool” and “Stranger Things” director recalled. “Very fun night but definitely, I’ve known famous people but Taylor is definitely a culture magnet unlike anything I’ve seen.”

Levy also joked that he had to keep his potty mouth in check.

“I think I might have said to Ryan and Blake on the ride to the stadium, ‘I’ve never been more conscious of being careful of what I say,’” he said. “If you are going to a football game in a box with Taylor you pretty much have to assume that you are on camera all the time and they’re capable of slow motion so they can definitely read lips. So I kept it clean.”

After the game, Levy took to Instagram and announced that “all future Sunday nights are ruined” after watching the Chiefs win 23-20 with one of the most famous people in the world.

“Apparently there was also a football game played last night,” added Levy alongside a group shot of the smiling bunch in their VIP box above the field via Instagram.

Swift’s attendance at the Chiefs-Jets game was the second time the Grammy award-winning singer had attended a Chiefs game in the midst of her highly-publicized rumored romance with tight end Travis Kelce, 33.

Just one week prior, the “Cruel Summer” vocalist made headlines when she watched the Chiefs go head to head against the Chicago Bears from the Kelce suite at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. She could be seen very excitedly rooting for Kelce alongside his mother, Donna Kelce, in a video shared on X (formerly known as Twitter).
