Ted Cruz suggests AOC ‘censure the Squad’ after she slams Kanye West’s anti-Semitic messages

Sen. Ted Cruz called out frequent political adversary Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez after the Bronx and Queens lawmaker condemned Kanye West’s recent anti-Semitic messages, which led him to be kicked off Instagram and Twitter.

On Sunday, AOC called on her supporters to “reject” recent statements from the rap star-turned-full-time provocateur that implied Jews control the music industry.

West, legally known as Ye, also tweeted Sunday that he would go “death con 3 [sic] On JEWISH PEOPLE,” using a mishearing of a term that describes a drastic US military mobilization.

“There is absolutely no room in this country or world for antisemitism,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote. “It is important to see how harmful + dangerous Kanye’s words are – not only to our Jewish brothers, sisters, & siblings, but also to our collective society at large.”

Cruz, a Texas Republican who often clashes with the progressive lawmaker and her “Squad” of left-wing allies, alluded to Rep. Ilhan Omar and Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s history of incendiary statements about Israel in his reply to her tweet.

Omar, a Somali-born Muslim who represents Minnesota, had previously equated Israel with the Taliban and suggested that the US has a close relationship with the country because Washington politicians were being paid off.

Tlaib, a Michigan congresswoman, said last year that progressive people should not support the Jewish state, claiming “the need to oppose Israel’s government’s apartheid rule is obvious.”
