Teen shot dead while watching ‘Transformers’ in movie theatre

A teen was shot and killed while he watched “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” inside a Washington theater Tuesday night, according to reports.

The incident happened around 12:19 am when Kent Police were called to a report of a shooting inside the AMC Theatre in Kent — roughly 20 miles outside of Seattle.

Washington police said the 19-year-old victim suffered an “obvious wound to his chest” as one of his friends performed CPR before medical personnel arrived.

Police believe the shooting was targeted and not a “random incident.”

No other people were injured in the attack.

The suspect — described as a 5-foot-11, dark-skinned male wearing a ski mask — has not been apprehended and is still on the run as of early Wednesday.

Three vehicles possibly in connection to the shooting were impounded, Kent Police Homicide Detectives said.

The victim’s close friend recounted the horrific details moments after he said he watched his “brother fall.”

“I seen my brother fall, so I picked him up, carried him,” Kevin, who is also 19, told KOMO News. “That’s all I can say, I tried to save his life,” he added.

The theater remained closed on Wednesday, according to its website.

“This was a chaotic incident for both patrons and responding officers,” Police Chief Rafael Padilla said in a statement.

“I want to commend the officers for their quick response in providing immediate aid to the victim, while simultaneously evacuating the theater. We have solid leads in this investigation, and I am hopeful that we will identify and apprehend the suspect soon.” 

“Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” hit theaters last Friday, where it earned $34.4 million on its opening night.
