Tennessee highway covered in alfredo sauce after tractor-trailer crashes
This cleanup could cost a pretty penne.
An 18-wheeler loaded with alfredo sauce crashed on a Tennessee highway on Tuesday, blanketing the roadway with the creamy concoction, officials said.
The truck slammed into a retention wall on I-55 around 4:45 p.m. and the resulting saucy mess shut down parts of the highway for hours, according to Memphis police and the Tennessee Department of Transportation.
Videos from the scene show the white sauce covering a massive swath of the northbound side of the highway.
The crash narrowed traffic to just one lane on the southbound side as well, Fox 13 reported.
One woman was taken to a local hospital in non-critical condition, Memphis police told the outlet.
Cleanup crews worked into the evening to rid the road of the sauce before traffic eventually resumed, according to Fox 13.
Early Tuesday morning, a big-rig spilled over 300,000 tomatoes following a crash on a California highway, injuring three and causing major traffic delays.
