The 1975 frontman Matty Healy addresses past controversies at show

For Matty Healy, “sincerity is scary.”

Controversial The 1975 frontman Matty Healy apologized for several of his past statements while appearing live with the pop band during a gig at London’s Finsbury Park.

Healy, 34, said during the band’s set on Sunday that he got “some stuff right and some stuff wrong,” according to Metro.

The Post reached out to Healy for comment.

“I’m not someone who takes things for granted. The 1975 isn’t a dry band. There’s a lot of irony in it,” Healy said, just weeks after his breakup with Taylor Swift. “Like, ‘Love Me’, for example — it doesn’t make sense unless I’m taking the piss out of myself.”

“I was always trying stuff. And some stuff I got right and some stuff I got wrong,” continued the frontman. “But, do you know what? There’s a lot of things I’ve said, jokes that I’ve made, there’s probably a couple of f – – king songs I’d take back if I had the chance.”

Healy then admitted a lot of the stunts he pulled were an attempt to make fans “laugh.”

“What I mean is that I really am only doing this because I want to make you guys laugh and feel good,”  explained the “About You” singer. “That’s what my favorite art does and that’s what I’m trying to do. I get a bit excited.”

The English singer, who was rumored to be dating Swift earlier this year, added that he was “f – – king proud of himself.”

In the past, Healy has been accused of misogyny, racism and antisemitism.

During one of the singer’s wild and unpredictable concerts, Healy was accused of performing the Nazi salute while marching on stage during a performance of “Love It If We Made It.”

The sticky moment came during the backlash over several antisemitic remarks made by disgraced rapper Kanye West, who is also mentioned by name in the song.

While many fans called the move satire and argued that Healy was actually calling out Nazis rather than supporting them, others slammed the singer for making the gesture in the first place.

Healy later condemned the “Heartless” rapper on the “Adam Friedland Show” in February 2023.

Another egregious moment came when Healy sat silently while the hosts of the aforementioned show, Adam Friedland and Nick Mullen, made a slew of racist comments regarding Ice Spice and then later joined in by calling the rapper “Inuit Spice Girl” and a “chubby Chinese lady.”

Healy later apologized to the rapper.

The podcast episode was so offensive, many platforms such as Spotify took it down, prompting Healy to later apologize to the “Princess Diana” singer.

As if the episode wasn’t already incredibly offensive, Healy decided to add an extra layer of disgust when he revealed that he masturbated to “hard-core pornography” on “Ghetto Gaggers,” a porn site known for videos showing the humiliation and brutalization of women of color.

In May, the frontman addressed the podcast episode by telling The New Yorker that he was “baiting” his fans.

“Nobody is sitting there at night slumped at their computer, and their boyfriend comes over and goes, ‘What’s wrong, darling?’ and they go, ‘It’s just this thing with Matty Healy.’ That doesn’t happen,” Healy told the publication.
