The Masters: Ronnie O’Sullivan draws Mark Williams or Ding Junhui, Judd Trump takes on Kyren Wilson in first round ties

Ronnie O’Sullivan will face Mark Williams or Ding Junhui in the 2024 Masters first round, while Judd Trump faces Kyren Wilson.

O’Sullivan’s opponent depends on the outcome of his tie with Ding in the UK Championship final on Sunday, with a win for the Englishman meaning he will face the Chinese player in January. A win for O’Sullivan at the second Triple Crown event of the season would extend the 47-year-old world No. 1’s Masters record to eight wins.

Ding’s other potential opponent should he triumph in York is Mark Williams with the Welshman facing either Ding or Ali Carter.

Mark Selby – searching for his fourth Masters title – will take on Robert Milkins in the first round, while the season’s in-form player and current Masters holder Trump takes on Wilson as he looks to continue his impressive start into another of the Triple Crown events.

Mark Allen, the most dangerous player on the tour last campaign will face a tough challenge against the hugely experienced John Higgins, and Shaun Murphy plays Zhang Anda.

Neil Robertson, meanwhile, will hope that his break to gather his thoughts and rediscover his best form, will take him over the line against Barry Hawkins.

Reigning World Snooker Championship winner Luca Brecel will face Jack Lisowski in the remaining tie.
