‘The parties I go to are dull’
Joan Collins thinks Hollywood has changed for the worse.
The legendary actress, 90, claimed Tinseltown lost its spark over modern-day cancel culture — and says it’s had an effect on star-studded parties.
“The parties I go to now are kind of… dull,” she told Best magazine. “They are red carpet things in which everybody does behave. If you don’t behave now you are going to get canceled.”
The “Dynasty” actress, who was born in London but has resided in the US since she was 20 years old, has worked with some of the world’s biggest names in film and television throughout her glittering career.
Yet she’s adamant that there are only four stars left in the industry: Nicole Kidman, Margot Robbie, Brad Pitt, and Keanu Reeves.
“I think Nicole Kidman is fabulous and Margot Robbie is one of the great beauties,” she told the publication. “Particularly Brad, he is like one of the movie stars of the Golden Age.”
Collins is known for her outspoken nature, and has often let her opinions on the state of Hollywood be known in past interviews.
Speaking to The New York Times in March 2022, Collins touched on how attitudes toward men in the industry have changed following the #MeToo movement.
“Sadly, I think that now young men are suffering from being labeled toxically masculine because of this rise of anti-maleness,” Collins told the outlet.
“I believe that women are equal to men in every single way,” she added. “Except physical strength. People say you didn’t burn your bra, you wear lipstick. So what? I’m very proud of being a woman.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Collins touched on society’s use of gender-neutral terms.
“What’s wrong with mother? What’s wrong with woman? Girl? I don’t like having that word taken away,” she said at the time.
While Collins claims that Hollywood has undergone a striking change, the same can’t be said for her appearance.
The actress previously revealed that she “hasn’t had any ‘work’ done” despite most stars going under the knife nowadays.
What’s more, she claimed to have tried Botox only once, saying she “screamed and left the surgery.”
