‘The View’ unveils new chairs following Joy Behar’s tumble

The set of ABC’s “The View” just unveiled a new safety feature.

In March, co-host Joy Behar took a nasty spill on air when she attempted to mount her “dangerous” swivel chair at the start of the episode. Fast forward to Sept. 6: New seats have debuted on the brightly-lit stage.

Instead of the old butt-warmers — which had a swivel base and were notably high — the updated seating is very different.

On Tuesday’s Season 26 premiere, the old stools were replaced with safer stationary ones with four tall legs, a square seat and adjoining back. Past chairs had a rotating cushion with just one long leg.

During the March 3 episode, Behar, 79, was strolling onto the stage at the beginning of the live show when she face-planted just as she reached her chair.

“[After] 25 years that has never happened! Who do I sue?” a flustered Behar joked to the audience at the time, once she got up and recovered from her accident. “I went flying … I just missed a step, as usual.”

Moderator Whoopi Goldberg then quipped on-air that “these chairs move,” adding that “you touch it, and you’re on the ground.”

Co-host Sunny Hostin then interjected, recalling that she has dropped from her seat numerous times.

Goldberg, 66, Hostin, 53, and Behar returned to “The View” set alongside new hosts Ana Navarro and Alyssa Farah Griffin.

Following the short hiatus, the women gathered during the broadcast to discuss the topics of the day as well as to rewind their summer breaks.

“The View” returned for Season 26 Tuesday. Behar revealed she lost “a little bit of weight” over the last few weeks. “When you lose weight, you look better sometimes. I needed to,” she said.

“Did you miss us,” Goldberg asked the crowd. “Well, we’re back at the table to kick off Season 26.”

Behar even revealed she lost “a little bit of weight” over the last few weeks. “When you lose weight, you look better sometimes. I needed to,” she continued.

The comedienne also happily plugged actress and former “The View” host Sherri Shepherd’s new talk show — Behar recently gave her advice about emceeing a daytime chat series.

“We really do all like each other,” Hostin chimed in. “We’re all friends.” Behar agreed, pointing to her fellow hosts and noting: “This is the best [cohesive] group we’ve ever had.”
