This illusion may look like a cute dog — but are your eyes tricking you?

An optical illusion in the form of a 16-second clip uploaded by “Inside Edition” shows what appears to be a white dog lazing around with its head resting on a roof.

But the video has viewers baffled.

Maybe the only real difference between cats and dogs is perspective.

When someone off-camera makes some attention-grabbing noise, the “dog” is revealed to actually be a white cat with black markings — made clear when the shapeshifter whips its head around to locate the source of the noise.

The illusion was created by the markings on the cat’s hind legs and tail, which have black splotches, making it look like a dog’s face.

The video was uploaded to YouTube in January, with users still puzzling over the tricky footage.

“This video reveals one of the biggest plot twists in human history,’ one user declared in the comments section.

“The closest thing to a live action cat-dog,” joked another.

It’s not the first time nature has created a confusing illusion: In Australia, users were baffled by a seemingly empty backyard that contained a hidden carpet python.
