‘This was a different Judd Trump’ – Masters champion has embraced new style says Eurosport expert Alan McManus
Judd Trump’s ability to win scrappy frames at crucial stages of The Masters final against Mark Williams impressed Eurosport’s expert Alan McManus.
This was evident as he outplayed Williams in a fascinating 14th frame, which lasted almost an hour, having played a series of supreme safety shots.

“This was a different Masters victory; this was a different Judd Trump,” said McManus.
“He is showing that he can do any which way you want it, and he had to battle today. He got it done against Mark Williams, one of the very best players in the world right now.
“That was an amazing victory.”
McManus believes that Trump has successfully readjusted his style and has added another dimension to his overall game.
‘I’ve never missed so many easy balls’ – Trump surprised with Masters victory
There was no ‘naughty snooker’ on Sunday; instead it was ‘sensible snooker’.
He said: “I think it’s taken Judd a couple of years, maybe even a bit longer, to come to terms with who he is as a snooker player because his game has completely changed, it’s totally different.
“He doesn’t go along at 16, 17 seconds a shot anymore – those days are gone.
“He’s a thoughtful snooker player now and that will take away some of the eye-catching shots. He gets down in the weeds and he just toughs it out when he has to.
“He can win any which way you want to, and going forward he has to be on the short list – the very short list – for the World Championship in a few months’ time.”
