TikTok horrified by this flat where roomies sleep inches apart

How far would you go to save some cash? Would you share a small studio with a roommate who not only seems to love clutter, but also sleeps uncomfortably close by?

Adam Bruce, a 31-year-old room reviewer on TikTok, has horrified viewers by showcasing a shockingly awful rental advertisement for a home in Dublin. Though it costs just $99 per week and $398 per month, there are some very big catches.

First, the newly arrived roommate is expected to rest their head on a small twin bed mere inches from that of the tenant already living there.

What makes that arrangement worse is the pile of books and clothing in between both beds that make the slim free space in between seem that much smaller. What’s more, the existing tenant has two pet cats — making the cramp even more real.

Speaking of the already slim amount of living space, it’s reduced even further by poorly organized and stored belongings extending throughout, particularly in the kitchen, according to Jam Press.

There, boxes of tea bags, dish towels and what seems to be jars of instant coffee are piled high on top of the stove, while a dirty dish rack stands next to the small sink, which itself is in front of a pile of produce and mugs. The tiny bit of counter space is right above a mini fridge, and as for floor space, there isn’t much of that either.

The review clip shows clutter piled high in the kitchen. “Sounds like a prison sentence,” wrote one commenter, with another adding, “I await the Netflix documentary on the murder.”

Just because the tenant is looking for a roommate doesn't mean there are separate bedrooms for each.

The shared living space, meanwhile, looks just as dire. The bathroom has a small stall shower and a small sink, with boxes of cat litter taking up prime floor space.

“I’m a very honest person living in a flat building.. I have an extra bed in the bedsit that I live in (THIS NOT A PRIVATE ROOM),” the ad says. “I am looking for someone to share the room with me. You will have to live with me and my cats.”

It continues, “I am a collector and I like to collect many things including books, stamps and coins. I’m looking for someone with similar interests but that is not necessary,” with the post adding the apartment doesn’t have Wi-Fi, it allows a flexible move-out-whenever arrangement, it’s near the city center — and the existing tenant will gladly do the roommate’s laundry for an extra fee.

“Couldn’t pay me to live there,” said another commenter, while another, with concern, replied, “The very sad reality is, there will be people desperate enough to want to take him up on his offer.”
