TikToker pulls savage revenge Amazon prank on ‘toxic ex’
Revenge is a dish best served via Amazon, apparently.
A mischievous woman got the ultimate payback on her ex while posing as an Amazon retailer in an epic prank call.
Sarah Lupica posted the hilarious ordeal on TikTok, which went viral, amassing 29.5 million views on the video-sharing platform.
Named “Toxic Ex” in her phone, the prankster recorded her call using Google to speak, making the illegitimate call sound like an automated message.
“Hello Connor Hughes, this is Amazon calling to confirm your purchase of Preparation H hemorrhoid relief ointment,” the robotic voice says into the phone. “To confirm this order, say confirm — to cancel this order, say cancel.”
Immediately, the ex frantically replies, “Cancel.”
“I heard you say ‘confirm,’ is that correct?” the automated voice responds.
“Cancel!” he says again.
“Thank you so much for confirming your order of Preparation H hemorrhoid relief ointment,” the robotic voice finally says, adding that by pressing “one,” he can speak to a “consultant.”
When he presses the button, she plays a fake phone ringing sound that she discovered on YouTube, then has the automated voice say the wait time is “50” due to an “unexpected high volume of calls.”
While he’s waiting to speak with a representative, that’s when the prank’s punchline comes in.
“Please enjoy our specially selected hold line music,” the voice says, then “I Don’t F–k With You” by Big Sean blasts in the background. Viewers can hear the confused ex saying “What?” over the phone before the clip ends.
In a follow-up video with more than 3 million views, she does the same prank on a contact named “Toxic Ex #2” in her phone, prompting more laughs from her viewers, who were extremely entertained by the well-thought-out plan. Many praised the TikToker for achieving such a convincible fete and some even wanted to try it themselves.
“BROoO there is so much thought into this,” one person wrote. “I’m living for it.”
“I’m literally going to do this,” commented another inspired user.
“The lengths people will go is astonishing,” said another.
“Glad to see you moved on,” someone commented snidely.
“I can’t tell whose the toxic one anymore,” chided another.
But this isn’t this TikToker’s first rodeo. She’s a regular prankster — posting videos online of her pulling different pranks on various exes.
In one clip with more than 487,000 views, Lupica calls up her ex to tell her she “had fun” the night before, only to pretend she called the wrong number. In another with more than 2 million views, she calls to thank an ex for the flowers he sent. While her ex was obviously confused, she even sent him a photo to seal the deal.
But her jokes don’t always go as planned. While some viewers enjoyed the lighthearted entertainment, others slammed the content creator for being “manipulative.”
“You’re in your villain phase and I’m here for it,” wrote one user in the comments.
“That is manipulative. Understanding why he is upset,” chimed in a critic.
“He’s not the toxic one,” another added.
“She’s definitely ‘drama,’” said someone else.
