Tom Hanks makes surprise ‘SNL’ appearance as David S. Pumpkins
Any questions?
Tom Hanks surprised viewers Saturday by making a surprise appearance on “Saturday Night Live” as his iconic Halloween character David S. Pumpkins, reports Variety.
Pumpkins — who first appeared in a 2016 Halloween sketch — has since exploded into a viral sensation.
Noted for his black and orange suit and dancing skeletons, Pumpkins was later dubbed the “King of Halloween” by fans.
Later in the show, fans are taken back to the haunted elevator where Pumpkins was first introduced along with the show’s musical guest Jack Harlow and Kenan Thompson — who explains that the riders will be seeing “horrors from the silver screen.”
The riders on the elevator then encounter horror icons such as Michael Myers, Pennywise and Annabelle before encountering Pumpkins himself.
“I’m going to scare you stupid,” says Hanks, who busts out a few moves alongside his faithful skeletons portrayed by Mikey Day and Bobby Moynihan — before closing out his ghoulish routine with his iconic catchphrase: “Any questions?”
“I was kind of feeling David Pumpkins, nice change of pace,” says Harlow in the skit.
Hanks’ character continues to reach further levels of absurdity throughout the Halloween-themed segment — but not before one final scare.
