Tottenham are eyeing up Burnley manager Vincent Kompany as their next manager, with the former Manchester City captain set to take his current side into the Premier League in the coming weeks.
Antonio Conte left the club a week ago, leaving Daniel Levy needing to make a new appointment.

“Manchester City icon Kompany’s work in his debut season at Turf Moor, where he plays an exciting brand of football, has impressed Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy.
“Spurs are putting together a shortlist after Antonio Conte finally left the club on Sunday.
“Julian Nagelsmann, Mauricio Pochettino, Luis Enrique, Marco Silva and Thomas Frank are all in the running.
“Kompany’s Championship leaders Burnley are 16 points clear of third spot ahead of hosting Sunderland tonight and can confirm automatic promotion by next weekend.”
Arteta wants Barca defender Garcia
Eric Garcia joined Barcelona hoping to hold down a place in the middle of defence but Andreas Christensen and Jules Kounde are the currently preferred pairing.
That has led Arsenal to look at making a bid for the Spaniard, with Mikel Arteta knowing the player from their time at the Etihad together.
“The 22-year-old has struggled for game time at Barcelona this season and could be allowed to leave the club as they attempt to balance their books. Andreas Christensen and Jules Kounde have formed an impressive partnership at the back, leaving Garcia’s minutes limited.
“Mikel Arteta is tracking the progress of Garcia, who has made just 14 La Liga appearances this season. The Gunners were linked with a move for Garcia in the January transfer window but opted to sign Polish youngster Jakub Kiwior instead.
“With William Saliba, Gabriel, Rob Holding and the inexperienced Kiwior as the Gunners’ only centre-back options – as Benjamin White excels on the right of defence – Arteta is likely to add one more to his squad, and Garcia has been named as a target. The Spain international worked with Arteta during their time together at Manchester City.”
Chelsea name price for Mount
With Mason Mount running down his contract at Stamford Bridge, the Daily Mail believes that Chelsea are keen to raise as much as they can in the summer when they can still sell him and receive a transfer fee.
The 24-year-old is attracting attention from around Europe’s top clubs, and so Chelsea are setting a high bar.
“The England international’s future at the club is under some doubt, with the two parties yet to reach an extension on his current deal which expires at the end of next season.
“Liverpool and Manchester United are among Premier League clubs interesting in signing the 24-year-old, with reports this week also suggesting that new Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel is also keen to reunite with the midfielder.
“Chelsea are keen to raise money this summer after spending around £600m on new players since the summer transfer window.”
Barca set to keep their powder dry
With financial problems still restricting Barcelona in the transfer market, Spanish newspaper Marca believes that the club are content to stick with Sergi Roberto at right-back, so as to avoid spending money on the position.
“The club has to set its priorities with caution in the face of this limitation of transfers.
“Despite what has been said in recent weeks, Barcelona have no intention of signing a right-back for next season, not Juan Foyth, nor Benjamin Pavard, as no right-back will arrive.”
