Treat Williams’ last photo gave peek into his quiet life in the countryside

Treat Williams offered up a look into his quiet life in the countryside in his final post before his death.

The post — a video of the “Everwood” actor mowing the lawn and showing followers the farmland — was published just hours before he died in a motorcycle crash in Vermont on Monday around 5 p.m. He was 71.

“Hay day,” he captioned the video.

That same day, he posted a photo of the farm from the point of view of him sitting on the lawnmower with the caption: “There is no better smell than new mown hay.”

Williams was riding his motorcycle on Route 30 near Dorset when he was struck by a car driver who didn’t see the motorcycle while making a turn, People reported.

Fans rushed to the comments of his most recent Instagram posts, posted that same day, to express their sadness and condolences.

“5 hours ago you were sharing your beautiful home with us & now we have lost you. Sending love to your loved ones. Godspeed,” one person wrote.

Williams’ agent of 15 years Barry McPherson told People, “He was killed this afternoon. He was making a left or a right [and] a car cut him off. I’m just devastated. He was the nicest guy. He was so talented.”

“He was an actor’s actor. Filmmakers loved him. He’s been the heart of the Hollywood since the late 1970s,” McPherson added. “He was really proud of his performance this year. He’s been so happy with the work that I got him. He’s had a balanced career.”
