‘True Lies’ costars Jamie Lee Curtis, Arnold Schwarzenegger reunite with selfie
Back together again. “True Lies” costars Jamie Lee Curtis and Arnold Schwarzenegger reunited nearly three decades after filming the 1994 movie.
The actress and former California governor, 76, took a selfie as they attended a charity event for the nonprofit After-School All-Stars on Saturday.
“‘Ya, my name is Ingeborg, I’m from Stuttgart.’ I LOVE the way my friends suit up and show up for the causes that move their souls and hearts,” Curtis wrote via Instagram after the pair crossed paths. “@schwarzenegger LOVES @afterschoolallstars and I LOVE ARNOLD! THE GOAT! 🐐”
The “Freaky Friday” star, 64, donned a white and red German dirndl dress and matching flower headpiece, while the “Kindergarten Cop” actor spotted a simple black T-shirt.
“True Lies” was directed by James Cameron and centered on a secret agent who deals with terrorists smuggling nuclear war heads into the US all while discovering that his wife might be having an affair.
The action thriller also starred Tom Arnold, Tia Carrere, Eliza Dushku, Art Malik and the late Bill Paxton.
The pair previously reunited when Curtis was honored at a hand-and-footprint ceremony at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood last year.
“When you go online and you check out Jamie Lee Curtis, you can see all the wonderful things they’re saying about her. But there’s always one thing that really pisses me off, and that is when they say that she is a supporting actress in the movie ‘True Lies,’” Schwarzenegger said during his speech at the time. “Because she wasn’t supporting — she was the female lead. She was the star. She was starring with me.”
Curtis got choked up during his speech, as he went on to call her the “most extraordinary actress” he’d ever worked with.
“This is a serious, serious player that can kick some serious ass,” he added.
“It made me want to do another one with him,” the “Halloween” actress later told Entertainment Tonight. “I walked up to him and I was like, ‘Dude, why aren’t we doing another movie?’”
