Trump attorney Kenneth Chesebro pleads guilty in Georgia election case

An attorney for former President Donald Trump’s 2020 election campaign who prosecutors called the “architect” of a scheme to send alternate slates of electors to Congress pleaded guilty Friday.

Kenneth Chesebro admitted to a single count of conspiracy in the sprawling Georgia case, becoming the second former attorney linked to the 77-year-old to plead guilty in as many days.

Chesebro had been indicted Aug. 14 on seven counts, including violating the Peach State’s anti-racketeering law, conspiracy to commit forgery, conspiracy to commit false statements and writings, conspiracy to file false documents and conspiracy to impersonate a public officer.
