Trump supporters shove protesters out of venue at Las Vegas rally
Donald Trump supporters shoved protesters out of the Las Vegas venue where the former president was holding a rally on Saturday night, according to reports.
As soon as Trump took the stage at the Big League Dreams sports park, a small group of American flag-clad protesters interrupted.
Without even waiting for security to get involved, Trump supporters chased them down and physically forced them out, video from the event shows.
“USA! USA!” Trump fans cheered at the protesters as they made their way towards the exits.
Some shoved the protesters while others jeered and flipped them the bird, according to the clip, posted by the Daily Mail.
One woman tried to rip a protester’s American flag bandana from his face while another woman pursued them and pushed her “Caucus for Trump” in their faces, another video shows.
“They’re actually friends – enthusiastic friends,” Trump said as he tried to calm the raucous crowd.
Trump’s stop in Nevada comes just days after he was ordered to pay E. Jean Carroll $83 million in his defamation trial against the advice columnist, who accused him of sexually assaulting her in the ‘90s.
After racking up two key victories in Iowa and New Hampshire over the last two weeks, Trump is eyeing his third straight win in Nevada. With Nikki Haley his only remaining opponent after Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis bowing out, Trump is hoping to secure the nomination quickly.
“The message from the voters of our party is clear – It’s time to finish this primary and get going at defeating [Biden],” Trump said on Saturday night, according to the Daily Mail.
Across town, Vice President Kamala Harris hosted her own rally at IBEW Local 365 for President Biden’s reelection campaign. Biden is scheduled to visit the Las Vegas Valley Feb. 4 ahead of the Primary Election on Feb. 6, KNTV reported.
The Nevada primary, which is being run by the state, will be Feb. 6, with early in-person voting kicking off on Saturday and running through Feb. 2, according to the Nevada Secretary of state’s office.
The Nevada Republican Party, however, is separately holding an in-person caucus from 5 – 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 8. The party decided that the results of the caucus — not the primary — will determine which candidate is allocated delegates.
“In your state you have both the primary and you have a caucus. Don’t worry about the primary, just do the caucus thing,” Trump told his voters. “And we’re going to go on to defeat Crooked Joe Biden.”
