Trump uses Matt Damon’s ‘Air’ monologue without consent in ad to solicit campaign money

Donald Trump used Matt Damon’s inspiring monologue from “Air” for a 2024 presidential fundraising video posted to his Truth Social app Saturday — without the actor’s consent.

“Everyone will be forgotten as soon as our time here is up, except for you,” says Damon, portraying Nike exec Sonny Vaccaro in the Ben Affleck-produced flick, while trying to score future NBA legend Michael Jordan to promote a new sneaker line.

“You’re going to be remembered forever because some things are eternal, and your story is gonna make us fight and never give up!”

A spokesperson for Damon and Affleck’s production company told Axios the Hollywood A-listers never consented to Trump using the dialogue for his two-minute campaign video that includes a link to donate money.

“We had no foreknowledge of, did not consent to and do not endorse or approve any footage or audio from ‘Air’ being repurposed by the Trump campaign as a political advertisement,” the spokesperson said.

Trump hasn’t wasted time using his recent indictment to score campaign cash from donors.

The former president – who was charged in Miami federal court Thursday with unlawfully keeping hundreds of classified government documents at his Mar-a-Lago estate after leaving the White House – has also sent out a series of e-mail blasts over the past few days through his Trump 2024 campaign fund attempting to secure donations from sympathetic supporters.

The indictment is Trump’s second since leaving office and marks the first time in US history a former president has faced federal charges.

In April, Trump pleaded not guilty to 34 felony counts brought by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg related to hush money payments made to porn star Stormy Daniels prior to the 2016 election.
