Tsubaki Miki ends two-year wait for World Cup win with parallel giant slalom victory in Slovenia

Japan’s Tsubaki Miki clinched her first World Cup victory in two years with a parallel giant slalom win in Rogla.

After four third-placed finishes this season, the 2023 world champion finally clinched the top spot with a win over Michelle Dekker of Netherlands in the final.

Still just 20 years old, the victory puts Miki second in the parallel giant slalom World Cup standings, 14 points behind leader Ramona Theresia Hofmeister, who narrowly missed out on the podium in Slovenia by losing out in the small final to Austria’s Sabine Schoeffmann.
