Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider exposed as ‘Masked Singer’s’ Doll
“The Masked Singer” took a real twist.
Twisted Sister singer Dee Snider revealed his face under Doll’s mask after being eliminated on the show’s “WB movie night” on Wednesday.
The 68-year-old singer was dressed in a gray unitard with a sparkly purple dress over it while wearing equally sparkly high-heeled shoes.
Prior to his unmasking, judges asked him to provide clues as to who he was.
Snider made a comparison to Elvis Presley, a “Guys and Dolls” playbill, and a lollipop before he gave a stunning performance of “Jailhouse Rock.”
Robin Thicke, 46, guessed that the singer was actually Gene Simmons from the rock and roll band Kiss while Ken Jeong, 53, guessed it was Austin Butler — who was nominated for an Oscar his portrayal of Elvis.
Nicole Scherzinger, 44, guessed that Snider was David Lee Roth while Jenny McCarthy, 50, believed the singer was Iggy Pop.
The show’s host Nick Cannon, 42, then asked Snider to give the judges another clue which turned out to be a guitar case with a “King Status” label.
“Besides making movies, the King and I shared making platinum records,” said Snider.
It was then time for the ultimate reveal which left the judges stunned.
“I’ve guessed him so many times on this show,” McCarthy said after the revelation.
“How did we not get that,” said Scherzinger.
“I forgot you were so tall,” said Thicke.
“The heels help,” joked Snider, “But let me tell you, Gene Simmons, Iggy Pop, no one could work pumps like I do.”
Before departing the show, Snider said he only had one more thing to say to the audience before belting out a verse of “We’re Not Gonna Take It.”
“Thank you, everyone,” said Snider.
Snider isn’t the only twist on the “Masked Singer” this season.
During the season premiere, film legend Dick Van Dyke was revealed to be hiding under the gnome costume much to the surprise of the judges.
“This is the most seasoned and most decorated we’ve had on our show, ladies and gentlemen,” said Cannon.
“I love you so much, we love you, the whole world loves you so much. It’s an honor to have you on our show,” gushed Scherzinger. “I can’t believe you’re here, I’m trying to play it cool. You look so gorgeous, you look so handsome.”
“The Masked Singer” airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m Eastern.
