Tyler Cameron reacts to Kristin Cavallari’s ‘fake boyfriend’ excuse

Tyler Cameron approves of Kristin Cavallari’s tactic to tell men that she already has a boyfriend — if she’s not interested in them.

“It’s smart,” the “Bachelorette” alum, 30, told the Post.

He joked: “I mean, she told me she had a boyfriend!”

“But no, I mean, honestly, genius,” he added.

Last month, Cavallari, 36, revealed that she’s used this method about “10 times” in Nashville during an episode of her “Let’s Be Honest” podcast.

“This is what I do. I have this fake boyfriend. There are multiple men right now that think I have a boyfriend,” the “Laguna Beach” alum said.

“I also said it to someone else in LA who I see every time I go to LA” she recalled, laughing. “Last time I was in LA [this guy] said to me … ‘How’s that boyfriend of yours?’ And I said, ‘He’s great.’ And he said, ‘What does he do?’ And I said, ‘He’s a country musician.’”

The “Hills” alum noted that in reality she’s dating “literally nobody,” but encouraged listeners to try out her tactic.

“I will say — until now I just f—king ruined it, you’re welcome — it’s actually been kind of a nice way, because it’s a really gentle let down,” she said. “So, I don’t know, I would say maybe try it.”

Cameron would agree.

“Say someone approaches you out and you don’t want to talk to them. ‘I have a girlfriend. I’m sorry.’ Or ‘I have a boyfriend.’ You know what I mean? It’s good,” he told the Post. “It’s a good way out.”

Cameron and Cavallari were previously linked together, but never confirmed if they actually dated. In July 2022, they kissed in a campaign for her Unommon James’ fall collection and were later spotted getting cozy and dancing at a New Year’s Eve party in January.

Cavallari shares three kids with ex-husband Jay Cutler, who recently went public with girlfriend Samantha Robertson. Cameron, meanwhile, is still looking for The One.

“I want to settle in and I want to kind of build out my life and family and career and everything. I mean, I moved back home to Florida to kind of focus on that. So that’s kind of been where my head’s at lately,” he told the Post, while promoting his new partnership with Eventbrite.

“[I want] someone [who] wants to have a family,” he continued. “I don’t want to live a crazy life in the lights and all that. I want to have a normal life at the end of the day. I want to go to the lights and do all the fun stuff, but then I want to come back. I live kind of in the middle of a very quiet neighborhood … I’m an adventure seeker, so someone who’s got that, but also someone who’s loving and respectful and likes to serve others.”
