‘Unbelievable’ – Wild Si Jiahui shot nearly results in ‘one of most incredible pots in Crucible history’
Si Jiahui has had quite the Crucible debut, and almost made a fluke to end all flukes in his second-round encounter with Robert Milkins at the World Championship.
After dropping the opening frame, Si roared back to take the next two and was well placed on a break of 48 in the fourth.

A red was over the bottom left and seemingly a simple ball to knock in.
Or so it appeared, as it jumped off the cloth and led to a moment of wild excitement as it rolled along the side rail before almost dropping in the yellow pocket.
“Hang on, oh wow,” exclaimed Dave Hendon on Eurosport commentary. “That was nearly unbelievable, it nearly went the whole length of the table into the yellow pocket.
“That would have been one of the most incredible pots in Crucible history had it gone in.”
Dominic Dale, alongside Hendon, was baffled as to why the red did not drop in its intended pocket.
“What a bit of drama from nowhere,” Dale said. “I would like to see it again. Why did it actually mount the cushion rail? That’s the question I want to ask as it should not happen unless a kick takes place.”

Si left the table in a state of bewilderment, but it did not prove costly as Milkins missed a red on his next shot and the youngster got back to the table to extend his lead to 3-1.
