Vanessa Bryant honors Kobe, Gianna at Taylor Swift concert: ‘Say you’ll remember me’
Vanessa Bryant honored her late husband NBA star Kobe Bryant and daughter Gianna’s memory during Taylor Swift’s first “Era’s” tour show in Los Angeles Thursday.
The 41-year-old shared images on her Instagram Story of a denim jacket, which paid poignant tribute to the father and daughter duo, who were both killed in a horror helicopter crash in 2020.
The custom piece featured a snap of the “Lavender Haze” hitmaker and the late Lakers superstar with “Swiftie” written above it — an affectionate term for the singer’s fandom.
The jacket also had a patch that read, “Say you’ll remember me” — a lyric from her 2014 hit “Wildest Dreams.”
The heartwarming pic was snapped when he presented the Swift with a banner for setting the record for the most sold-out shows in Staples Center history in 2015.
Vanessa also posted a photo of the bracelets she wore to the sold-out gig, including two beaded bracelets which say “Kob” and “Gigi.”
Vanessa Bryant also reposted a video on her Instagram story from Aug. 1, 2018, which showed her eldest daughter, Natalia, singing along to Swift’s “You Belong With Me” with Gianna.
At the concert, Vanessa Bryant shared selfies of her daughters Natalia and Bianka, before sharing clips of the show.
Later in the night, Bianka received a heartwarming surprise from the 12-time Grammy winner herself, who gifted her a hat with “22” on it — a sweet nod to her hit track from her “Red” album — while Swift performed it live.
“We love you @taylorswift ❤️,” Vanessa wrote on social media alongside a photo of Swift hugging Bianka on stage.
Vanessa was faced with unimaginable heartbreak in Jan. 2020 when the helicopter carrying Kobe, 41, and Gianna, 13, suddenly spiraled and crashed, killing all nine passengers onboard.
Following the tragedy, Swift shared a heartfelt tribute on X — formerly known as Twitter — writing, “My heart is in pieces hearing the news of this unimaginable tragedy. I can’t fathom what the families are going through.
“Kobe meant so much to me and to us all. Sending my prayers, love, and endless condolences to Vanessa and the family and anyone who lost someone on that flight.”
Swift has five more performances at SoFi Stadium before she starts the international leg of the “Eras” Tour on Aug. 24 in Mexico.
Swift recently shared the love from her tour by giving her truckers a massive $100,000 raise for moving her set pieces across the US.
According to reports, there are nearly 50 truckers involved in moving equipment for the tour meaning that Swift, 33, signed that “Blank Space” for nearly $5 million.
