Video captures Buenos Aires cops shooting man who fired on ex
Dramatic video captured the moment police in Buenos Aires raced to the aid of a woman whose ex-boyfriend tried to blast her with a gun — arriving just moments after he pulled the weapon out of his motorcycle helmet and opened fire.
The suspect, 39-year-old Julian Alberto Reina, is seen following the woman, identified only as 29-year-old D.P., while wearing a dark hoodie and sunglasses on July 6.
He is then seen reaching into the helmet, which he is holding in his left hand, to remove what was described as a .32-caliber revolver, according to Newsflash.
The pair then walk out of the camera’s view but screaming is heard as two shots are fired.
Miraculously, the bullets missed the woman, the outlet reported.
At that moment, a police pickup truck pulls up, screeches to a halt and two cops jump out. One is seen firing four shots at the gunman as he chases the woman behind the vehicle.
He is hit three times and falls to the ground as the woman runs off.
Reina had been harassing his ex-girlfriend for several days, Newsflash reported, citing local news outlets.
”The first officer who intervened, who was the driver of the truck, called out for the man to stop and hand over the weapon, but he did not stop aiming at the woman, for which the policeman fired four times,” a police spokesperson said.
”Three of the projectiles hit the assailant’s body, one in the buttocks area, another in the right leg and the third in the right arm,” the official added.
Reina, who was listed in stable condition at Pirovano Hospital, faces charges of attempted femicide and resisting a law enforcement officer, the outlet reported.
The terrified woman was treated for a panic attack after the harrowing incident, according to authorities.
