‘Vikingism’ cult accused of raping captive, sacrificing puppy
A Louisiana woman with three husbands who practices “Vikingism” allegedly held a fourth partner captive as a sex slave, forcing her to denounce Christianity and offer a puppy as a ritual sacrifice “to the Gods.”
Hannah Frisby, the 29-year-old leader of the West Monroe cult, was arrested on Friday along with her three “husbands:” Caleb Frisby, 28, Justin Cowart, 26, and James Owens as well as Hannah Frisby’s uncle, Tommy Allen, 54, according to police.
The sick sect practiced satanism, witchcraft, and Vikingism — the worship of the Norse pantheon — and ritualistically sacrificed a puppy, according to arrest documents obtained by KNOE.
The Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office began investigating Frisby and her followers in September after the victim’s sister reported her situation to police.
The victim, who suffers from autism and ADHD, was engaged in a polyamorous relationship with Hannah Frisby and the three men.
Frisby told her that she had to live with them because she “doesn’t do long distance,” according to police records.
When she moved into the home, she was forced to renounce Christianity and adopt her new housemate’s beliefs.
On her second week living there, she was punished for harming herself and forced to get into a scalding bathtub and scrub herself with a bristled brush soaked in bleach in front of others to exorcize “evil spirits,” KTVE reported.
In a separate incident, Frisby allegedly placed a puppy on a table for the victim and held a large knife to the dog’s chest and told her it was ”a sacrifice to the gods.”
It’s not clear if the puppy was actually killed. The Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office told The Post it would not be able to confirm until Friday morning.
The abuse worsened, records show. The victim was told she was a slave and was offered up to the husbands as sex on demand. To “move up ranks” in the family, she told investigators, she needed to help them reproduce.
If she refused, she faced abuse and sexual assault from Frisby.
At one point Frisby told one of the husbands to release the victim from the house as they were not a good partner — but the husband refused, according to documents.
The victim’s sister visited the residence for dinner on Sept. 21. When she arrived, the victim asked her sister “How is Freddy” — which is the family’s safety question they use to indicate if they are in trouble but can’t speak about it, investigators said.
The victim grabbed a notebook and asked her sister to read her poetry after scrawling a desperate message: “Help me. They won’t let me leave. They beat me every day like a slave.”
Two hours after the victim’s sister left, Ouachita Parish deputies arrived at the residence to perform a welfare check on the victim, according to KTVE.
Frisby was arrested on charges of first-degree rape, ritualistic acts, and aggravated battery. She is being held at the Ouachita Correctional Center.
Cowart was arrested and charged with aggravated battery and first-degree rape; Caleb Frisby was charged with aggravated battery; and Allen was charged with one count of aggravated battery.
