Giulio Ciccone (Trek-Segafredo) held off Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma) and Remco Evenepoel (Soudal–QuickStep) to win Stage 2 at Volta Ciclista a Catalunya. The trio, led by Evenepoel, hunted down Esteban Chaves (EF Education-EasyPost) before a thrilling three-up sprint, which saw Ciccone come to the fore and Roglic pip his closest GC rival to second.
