Watch bus nearly mow down woman who fell off motorcycle in insane street video
That was a close one!
An Arkansas motorcycle rider who mistakenly thought he “had enough stopping distance” in the middle of oncoming traffic caused his passenger to be tossed in the direct line of a city bus that almost mowed her down, KARK-TV reported.
Dashcam footage from Hot Springs Intracity Transit Driver Michelle Ramon shows the intense moment the biker nearly rear-ends a vehicle when they tactfully swerved into another lane on Oct. 21.
The clip starts by showing the biker and his passenger cruising down Albert Pike Boulevard in Hot Springs when they approach some light traffic.
But everything turns for the worse when the motorcycle’s driver seemingly isn’t paying attention and has to swerve into another lane to avoid a rear-end collision.
The female passenger holds onto him for dear life until she falls to the ground face-first into the path of the city bus.
The biker immediately pulled over in a desperate attempt to stop traffic and rushed over to the passenger, who was still lying on the ground.
Another witness sprung to action to join the biker in checking to see if the woman, who was wearing a helmet, was safe.
“I think it was God and Him giving me the fast reflexes on the brakes. I hate to think about it, but just a split second of me not reacting in time, and she would have been under the bus,” Ramon told KARK News.
“It was scary because I didn’t think I had enough stopping distance. She fell off the bike and was laying across my lane, and I had nowhere to go. Then I hit the brakes as hard as I could, praying that I could stop in time,” Ramon continued.
Other frightening close calls on US highways are an all too familiar sight.
Earlier this year, one daredevil broke 20 bones in his body but lived to tell the story after he tried zipping through semi-trucks and cars at over 140 mph.
The unnamed biker, who goes by the name Street Demon PC, posted the scary footage to YouTube, showing off his insane, yet life-threatening riding.
In the video, all was going so well for the biker — until he misjudged his skills and rammed head-on into the back of a black GMC pickup truck.
The biker was knocked unconscious and then knocked over again by a tractor-trailer into a ditch.
