What to watch on Christmas Day 2023

Get your sleigh bells ringing.

The famous tree is up at Rockefeller Center, celebs are in the streets verbally sparring with crowds … December is well underway.

Christmas 2023 is here at last.

And whether or not you celebrate the holiday, Dec. 25 is the perfect day to curl up on your couch with a warm drink and some seasonal watches. 

From holiday specials to annual seasonal favorites, here’s what to watch and stream over the holiday this year. 

“Little Women”

The 2019 movie is a more recent classic, directed by Greta Gerwig. It’s an adaptation of the famous novel by Louisa May Alcott, following sisters Meg (Emma Watson), Jo (Saoirse Ronan), Beth (Eliza Scanlen) and Amy (Florence Pugh) through life and love. With Meryl Streep, Laura Dern, Bob Odenkirk and Timothée Chalamet as co-stars, it’s a star-studded film about family and nostalgia.

“Christmas at Graceland” 

This special aired earlier in November on NBC, but if you missed it live, catch it streaming. Helmed by Elvis’ granddaughter Riley Keough (a noted actress who also appears in the special), it features several big stars performing at the music icon’s famous home of Graceland — including John Legend, Lana Del Rey, Alanis Morissette and Kacey Musgraves.

“Violent Night” 

For those who want a Christmas-themed movie that’s more adult-oriented, David Harbour stars in this action-comedy about Santa Claus fighting mercenaries who have taken a wealthy family hostage.

“The Lord of the Rings”

Even though the controversial “Rings of Power” Prime Video show was not bad, nothing beats the 2001-2003 take on J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle-earth books. This epic fantasy trilogy about Frodo (Elijah Wood), Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen), Legolas (Orlando Bloom) and the rest of the Fellowship going on a dangerous adventure to destroy the Ring and save the world is fun for the whole family. It’s a modern classic that holds up, and the perfect watch for a cold night when you need to watch the good guys win.

“Die Hard”

Even Rachael Leigh Cook recently told The Post that she will “get behind that notion” that the hit Bruce Willis action flick is a Christmas movie, so it must be true. In the 1988 modern classic, detective John McClane (Willis) must deal with a terrorist takeover of an LA skyscraper on Christmas Eve, led by the sinister Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman). 

Where to watch: It’s playing at 9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 25 on Paramount Network. 

“Hannah Waddingham: Home for Christmas”

For those who want a more musical program, the Emmy-nominated “Ted Lasso” star has you covered. The special features Waddingham, 49, singing at the London Coliseum, and a slew of celeb special guests, including Leslie Odom Jr., Luke Evans, and several “Ted Lasso” co-stars such as Phil Dunster, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein and Jason Sudeikis.

“The Man Who Came To Dinner“

In this witty 1942 comedy, New York City radio personality Sheridan Whiteside (Monty Woolley) is passing through a small Ohio town when he gets injured — and spends Christmas recovering at the house of the Stanley family, where he upends everyone’s lives. Hollywood legend Bette Davis co-stars as his assistant, Maggie.
