‘Wheel of Fortune’ contestant mocked for ‘worst guess ever’: ‘Say it again?’

It was a spin … and a big miss.

“Wheel of Fortune” contestant Gishma Tabari became the butt of several jokes Wednesday after she flubbed a very easy puzzle with what several critics are calling the “worst guess ever.”

During the ABC show’s triple toss up, Tabari was faced with the category “Show Biz” and was given the letters “TH_ _RITI_S _GR_E.”

It was at this juncture that all logic seemed to fail Tabari, who guessed “the British Ogre.”

The answer took host Pat Sajak, who earlier this year said he would be retiring from the show, by surprise.

“Say it again,” Sajak, 77, said to Tabari, who repeated her bizarre answer.

Sajak appeared amused at the response, and simply replied: “Uh, no.”

Ultimately, the answer that Sajak was looking for was “The Critics Agree.”

Several users on X blasted Tabari over her answer.

“What? You’ve never heard of the British Ogre,” one user chided.

“This woman just guessed this puzzle as The British Ogre,” a second user added. “So many British Ogres in show biz.”

“This girl guessed ‘The British Ogre’ on wheel of fortune and the second hand embarrassment was overwhelming,” a third person commented. “She wouldn’t even look at the camera for a sec. I feel bad but man that s–t was funny.”

“The British Ogre sounds like a cool band name,” a more positive user stated.

“To be honest I prefer THE BRITISH OGRE because the puzzles could use some more wacky originality sometimes,” another suggested.

Despite Tabari’s initial blunder, she managed to rake in $15,853 and even won a cruise.

As 2023 winds down, Sajak’s final show is quickly approaching.

“Well, the time has come. I’ve decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last,” he tweeted in June.

“It’s been a wonderful ride, and I’ll have more to say in the coming months. Many thanks to you all. (If nothing else, it’ll keep the clickbait sites busy!)”

Sajak, who is notorious for his odd behavior on set, will be replaced by “American Idol” host Ryan Seacrest while Vanna White remains at her trusty letter board.

“I’m truly humbled to be stepping into the footsteps of the legendary Pat Sajak,” Seacrest, 48, said in a statement. “I can say, along with the rest of America, that it’s been a privilege and pure joy to watch Pat and Vanna on our television screens for an unprecedented 40 years, making us smile every night and feel right at home with them.

“Pat, I love the way you’ve always celebrated the contestants and made viewers at home feel at ease,” he added. “I look forward to learning everything I can from you during this transition. I can’t wait to continue the tradition of spinning the wheel and working alongside the great Vanna White.”
