‘Wheel of Fortune’ fans furious over ‘impossible’ puzzle
Pat Sajak is at it again with his puzzlng antics.
Fans of “Wheel of Fortune” were furious at Sajak, 76, after a contestant lost out on a $100,000 prize for a puzzle that has been deemed “impossible” by viewers.
Contestant Cesar Redaja had to complete a phrase during a special bonus round on Thursday’s episode, but many fans claim it wasn’t a “phrase” at all.
The energy was high when Redaja got the highest score of $26,393 — but things went south when it came time for the special prize round for extra cash.
He chose “phrase” for his bonus round and chose the letters H, G, M and A, and the phrase read: “THAT _AS A ____TAL _A_T_R.”
“That was a … uh…” Redaja started to guess as the 10-second timer went off, not allowing him to finish.
The solution ended up being: “That was a pivotal factor.”
Fans took to social media to slam the puzzle, saying that’s not an actual phrase people use.
“‘That was a pivotal factor’ no one says that smfh,” one person tweeted.
“‘That Was a Pivotal Factor’ is a ‘phrase’ in the same Universe that Bon Jovi is ‘Metal’,” someone quipped.
“Yeah, I’m always going around saying ‘That was a pivotal factor!’. It’s so common!!! How could he not get that?!” joked another.
This isn’t the first time “Wheel of Fortune” fans have slammed the show: Sajak’s bizarre behavior has been a hot topic lately.
All in recent episodes, Sajak has put a contestant in a chokehold; claimed he hides in letter-turner Vanna White’s garden; asked a contestant to remove his shirt and tugged on a contestant’s beard. Earlier this month, he scolded a contestant who grabbed the envelope in the show’s bonus round: “Don’t ever do it again!”.
