White House says Elon Musk spread ‘hideous lie’ about Jews

WASHINGTON — The White House accused Elon Musk Friday of “abhorrent promotion” of a “hideous lie” about the Jewish people — after the world’s richest man agreed with a tweet claiming that Jews supported “hordes of minorities” immigrating to the US.

White House spokesperson Andrew Bates accused the owner of X, SpaceX and Tesla of promoting the same views that propelled murderer Robert Bowers to kill 11 people at Pittsburgh’s Tree of Life synagogue in 2018.

“It is unacceptable to repeat the hideous lie behind the most fatal act of Antisemitism in American history at any time, let alone one month after the deadliest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust,” Bates said.

“Like President Biden said weeks ago memorializing the victims of the Pittsburgh Synagogue shooting, the October 7 [Hamas attack on Israel] ‘has brought to the surface painful memories left by millennia of Antisemitism,’” Bates said.

“We condemn this abhorrent promotion of Antisemitic and racist hate in the strongest terms, which runs against our core values as Americans. We all have a responsibility to bring people together against hate, and an obligation to speak out against anyone who attacks the dignity of their fellow Americans and compromises the safety of our communities.”

Musk wrote Wednesday on X to another user of the platform, “You have said the actual truth” — after that user, who has few followers and doesn’t use their name in their profile, blasted Jews.

“Jewish communties [sic] have been pushing … dialectical hatred against whites that they claim to want people to stop using against them,” the user with whom Musk agreed wrote.

“I’m deeply disinterested in giving the tiniest s— now about western Jewish populations coming to the disturbing realization that those hordes of minorities that support flooding their country don’t exactly like them too much. You want truth said to your face, there it is.”

In another tweet in the same thread, Musk added: “The [Anti-Defamation League] unjustly attacks the majority of the West, despite the majority of the West supporting the Jewish people and Israel. This is because they cannot, by their own tenets, criticize the minority groups who are their primary threat. It is not right and needs to stop.”

Bowers, the mass-murderer of Jews in Pittsburgh, justified his crime by claiming there was an ongoing “genocide” as a result of immigration by “invaders.”

Shortly before committing the deadliest anti-Jewish hate crime in US history, Bowers wrote on social media that a Jewish charity group “likes to bring invaders in that kill our people. I can’t sit by and watch my people get slaughtered. Screw your optics, I’m going in.”

Musk has previously clashed with the Biden administration.

President Biden called last year for a federal investigation of Musk’s purchase of Twitter, which the South African-born billionaire said he made to restore free speech. After buying the platform, he released internal files on the decision to censor The Post’s reporting on documents from first son Hunter Biden’s laptop that linked Joe Biden to his family’s foreign business dealings.

Biden in 2021 snubbed Tesla, which does not have a unionized workforce, from a promotional event on the White House lawn touting other electric carmakers, even though Tesla sold the majority of EVs.
